Raising awareness and money

The walk is as much about raising awareness as money: every £1 helps.

Ways to raise awareness

In addition to the £5 entry fee, you might like to consider the following:

Where does the money go?

AIDS is no longer just a disease, it is a human rights issue. It affects people of all ages, but in particular it affects young people. Young people in Africa. For the sake of all of them, we must act and act now.

Nelson Mandela

All money raised goes to Save the Children's work with AIDS orphans and vulnerable children.

Save the Children is working to enable those orphaned by AIDS to be cared for in their communities rather than institutions.

Save the Children fights for children's rights, for example, where children are denied property or inheritance after the death of their parents from AIDS. Children living with HIV and AIDS, caring for an HIV positive family member or orphaned because of AIDS need extra care and protection. We are working with local communities to provide this as well as with governments to increase their access to healthcare and education.
