Pushy Mums in your area
Why not get some friends together and organise a short walk in your area? It's really simple to do:

Pushy Mums private group
- Find some friends you want to walk with
- Agree a route - we suggest not longer than one hour's walking.
- Email pushymums@savethechildren.org.uk who will supply balloons and flyers
- Take a picture of your group and send it to pushymums@savethechildren.org.uk
- Donate monies collected to Save the Children. You can either do this online at www.justgiving.com/pushymums or fill out the form you will receive with your pack and send it with a cheque to:
Save the Children
1 St John's Lane
London
EC1M 4AR
- Put Pushy Mums in your diary for next year.
Pushy Mums public group
As for above but also:
- Tell as many mums as you can - put up a flyer at your local NCT group, nurseries and/or cafes (download flyer: Word (41.5Kb) or PDF (21.7Kb))
- Contact local press and websites. Contact pushymums@savethechildren.org.uk for help with a press release.
- Contact us at pushymums@savethechildren.org.uk and we will post details of your walk on this site.
Note: If you plan to collect money along your route, you need to apply for a license from the Charity Collections Authorisation Department of your local police.
Additional (Optional) steps
- Organise something to entertain the kids - people in fancy dress, gingerbread men or a teddy bears' picnic
- Take along some red ribbon and safety pins - human sized, pram sized and railing sized to line your route (be sure to take them down afterwards of course)
- Contact local businesses to ask if they will sponsor you
- Make up a route map and fact sheet about AIDS orphans (see page - AIDS Orphans: The facts)
Finally, if you are going to have lots of people walking:
- Organise some dads to help marshall the route
- Advise the local Community Police Officers.
After that do a sun dance and enjoy the day, whatever the weather!
